MASONRY CAMP, BOWIE, MD — MDS Architect Kelsey Holmes, RA was one of 40 designers and craftworkers from around the country to attend the BAC/IMI National Training Center for the 2017 Masonry Camp, hosted by the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers (BAC) and International Masonry Institute (IMI).

Masonry Camp is a week-long educational program that fosters an advanced understanding of how to collaboratively design, build, and innovate with masonry. The hands-on program gives craftworkers and IMI instructors a chance to share their craft, and designers the opportunity to get their hands dirty exploring materials. The program culminates with a group design-build challenge. This year's challenge focused on creating community health centers that promote wellness and show the value of building with masonry.
