The AIA 2030 Commitment is a national program that seeks to reduce greenhouse gas emissions of the built environment by prioritizing energy performance. As a participant in the program, MDS reports the performance of our projects annually to the AIA 2030 Design Data Exchange (DDx). The reported data include building type, area, baseline energy performance, and predicted energy performance. These simple metrics help us identify best practices and anonymously compare project performance in our work and that of our peers.

At MDS, we believe reducing energy usage and creating healthy environments that protect user health and wellness are critical goals of every project. We participate in the AIA 2030 Commitment to advance our practice and provide our clients with high quality design solutions that provide long-term value. The adjacent charts describe our progress to meeting the 2030 goals.

In addition to participating in the AIA 2030 Commitment, MDS also is a member of the Living Products 50 that promotes transparency in the health and environmental impact of products used in design and construction. Read more about MDS’s approach to sustainable design.
