The British International School of Boston is a private pre-K-to-high school institution delivering the British National Curriculum. The school occupies a new facility on the Showa Women’s University hilltop campus. This three story, 42,000 sq. ft. facility is the first new building on the campus since Showa University came to Jamaica Plain in 1987.

MDS engaged the steeply sloped topography through a site design of multi-level entries and outdoor access, with segregated vehicular and pedestrian circulation. The school includes classrooms, a library, science and computer labs, a gymnasium, and headmaster suite, as well as meeting and support space for 480 students. Grade levels are grouped by floor, with the youngest children on the lowest level for direct access to outdoor sports fields and playground areas.
