Achieving Healthy School Buildings Together

MASBO Annual Institute
Brewster, MA
May 16, 2018

Ensuring a healthy school building requires robust research, effective design and maintenance, and health-centric policies. By the time a child graduates 12th grade, they have spent more than 15,600 hours in school. During this time, our students are rapidly growing and developing as well as being exposed to environmental conditions that may not be optimized for learning and health. This panel will highlight key findings from current public health research and specific methods and opportunities for implementing this research into school facilities. The panelists provide diverse perspectives about bests practices, key challenges and the potential solutions.

Panelists:

  • Erika Eitland (Public Health and Research)
  • Lisa Nelson (Policy)
  • Chin Lin (Architecture and Design)
  • Nereyda Rodriquez (Architecture and Design)
  • Kenneth Wertz (Facilities and Operations)
  • Moderator: James Nowack
