Interior Designer / Interior Architect

MDS/Miller Dyer Spears is seeking a versatile full-time designer with strong design skills to join our collaborative team of architects and designers. The successful applicant will have 5-8 years experience in programming and space planning, with a good sense of space and color, and knowledge of workplace approaches. Our clients range from schools and universities to healthcare and labs. We are seeking a designer with experience in renovation and new construction of institutional projects.

Other requirements for this position include:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Strong design software and 3D visualization skills, proficiency in Revit, SketchUp and rendering software types
  • Ability to develop concepts for finishes and furnishings selection
  • Experience in producing construction documents and CSI specifications
  • LEED AP or knowledge of sustainable materials and construction
  • NCIDQ a plus
  • Understanding of codes, accessibility regs, building systems, materials, etc.
  • Ability to work well under deadlines and to multi-task are essential
